Why Pomona Families Trust Us at Men's Central Jail
Bail Bonds Pomona has 20+ years in business behind it and 867+ clients helped. Our agents follow five habits when a Pomona family needs an MCJ bond.
We Say So When a Bond Cannot Help
We read the booking details before any paperwork. If the charge carries no money bail under the county's pre-arraignment release protocol, or a hold blocks release, we tell you and stop there.
Pomona City Jail and Courthouse South Know-How
Our agents know Pomona City Jail and Pomona Courthouse South, where local cases begin. LASD guidance says a person the city jail does not release goes on to the Inmate Reception Center downtown.
Honest Release Estimates Without Guarantees
In our experience, release follows 2-6 hours after we file the bond, at the Sheriff's pace. We quote that range and nothing firmer; our after-bail guide covers what comes next.
Every Fee in Writing Up Front
Your premium equals 10% of the bail, our standard rate, and some clients may qualify for 8%. The contract lists each cost and any payment plan before you sign, with no hidden fees.
One Premium for the Life of the Bond
California's one-premium rule, Penal Code 1276.1, took effect January 1, 2022. If his case drags on, that one premium covers the full bond term until the court exonerates it.
Inside the Men's Central Jail Complex on Bauchet Street
LASD operates Men's Central Jail and handles booking and release at the Inmate Reception Center on the same street. Once you know which building does what, you save wasted calls and trips.
441 Bauchet Street and the Main Numbers
Men's Central Jail occupies 441 Bauchet Street in downtown Los Angeles, ZIP 90012. The Sheriff lists its general line as (213) 473-6100, the main lobby as (213) 974-4082 and the visiting lobby as (213) 974-4927. Check any number against lasd.org, since older listings online go stale.
Booking, Release and the Cashier at IRC
At 450 Bauchet Street, LASD runs the Inmate Reception Center as temporary holding with no visits. Call its booking desk at (213) 893-5327, release at (213) 893-5347 and the cashier's office at (213) 473-6049. Penal Code 1269b lets a jail's officer in charge take bail in cash or through a surety bond.
Finding His Booking Number
Call the Sheriff's inmate information line at (213) 473-6100 with his full name and date of birth or arrest date, or use the Find an Inmate tool on lasd.org. Families get no notice from LASD when it moves someone to another facility, including Twin Towers, which shares IRC's 450 Bauchet Street address.
Visiting Hours and Appointments
LASD opens MCJ to public visitors Thursday through Sunday, between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. Register at visit.lasd.org and book an appointment first, and bring photo ID. A man still awaiting classification cannot receive visits or calls, and LASD says that step may run two weeks to a month.
Commissary Money Stays Separate From Bail
Bail is separate. LASD takes commissary deposits online through Access Corrections. Mail up to $200 from California as a certified bank cashier's check or USPS money order payable to his name and booking number, to Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, Terminal Annex, P.O. Box 86164, Los Angeles, CA 90086-0164, Attn: that name and number.
Three Simple Steps to a Bail Bond
1
Initial Payment
Phone (888) 998-9511 whenever the arrest happens. Once you know the bail amount, you review and sign the agreement, then make a low down payment toward the standard 10% premium.
2
Customized Payment Plan
We split the remaining premium into a written payment schedule built around your budget. A long case adds no second premium, since California outlawed renewal premiums in 2022 (Penal Code 1276.1).
3
Securing Release
A licensed agent files the bond with the jail or station holding your relative. That facility sets its own release pace, and we keep your family posted until your relative walks out.

Men's Central Jail Bail Bond Questions
Four of these questions come from searches about Men's Central Jail; the fifth covers an arrest that starts in Pomona. Dollar answers use our standard 10% premium.
How Much Is Bail on a $1000 Bond?
The bail itself is $1,000, and through us the premium is $100 at the standard 10%. Our cost guide runs the same math on larger bail. Clients who qualify for 8% would pay $80. You could also deposit the whole $1,000 in cash as security for his return.
Why Is Men's Central Jail Closing?
LA County plans to close MCJ without a replacement under its Care First, Jails Last vision, shrinking the jail population and expanding community-based care. The Board of Supervisors tasked the CEO's Jail Closure Implementation Team with that work. Its page gives no date; LASD still lists MCJ's visiting hours.
How Much Is 10% on a $5000 Bond?
Ten percent of $5,000 is $500, our standard premium; the surety guarantees the court the full $5,000. If he misses a court date, the judge can declare a forfeiture. Penal Code 1305 gives him 180 days from the mailed notice, plus five for mailing, to appear and have it vacated.
What Does a $3,000 Bond Mean?
Bail is $3,000. Before his first court appearance, the warrant or county schedule sets it; afterward, the judge does (Penal Code 1269b). At 10%, a bond's premium is $300. If every court date is kept, a relative's cash deposit returns whole after judgment on the receipt (Penal Code 1297).
Is My Loved One Still at Pomona City Jail or Transferred?
Call Pomona City Jail at (909) 620-2131 first. If he has left, phone LASD's inmate information number, (213) 473-6100, and give his full name and date of birth. Under Penal Code 825, he must go before a judge within 48 hours of his arrest, skipping Sundays and holidays.
