Why Pomona Families Lean on Us After a Drunk-in-Public Arrest
You may be calling at 3 a.m. about a drunk-in-public arrest. Across 20+ years and 867+ clients, our first move stays the same: check what bail, if any, applies.
Both Sides of the County Line
The San Bernardino County line forms most of Pomona's eastern and southern edges. We post bonds on that side too, for arrests in Montclair or Chino and at West Valley Detention Center.
Respectful Calls, No Hounding of References
Some families fear a bail company that phones them and their references nonstop. Our calls stay polite and about the case, and we won't pester you or the references you name.
Open Around the Clock
Our line stays open 24/7, holidays included. If your relative needs a warrant bond at 2 a.m., we start the paperwork then, and in our experience release takes 2-6 hours.
A Real Person Picks Up
Call (888) 998-9511 and a real person answers, day or night. Give us your relative's name and the arresting agency, and we start working out which facility holds them.
CDI-Licensed Bail Agents
California's Department of Insurance licenses the agents who write our bonds. Our license number sits in the page footer, and CDI's Check a License tool shows its status and any discipline history.
Public Intoxication Arrests and When a Bond Applies
Los Angeles County's 2026 misdemeanor schedule sets bail for a Pomona 647(f) arrest. If money bail applies, the premium is 10%; our bail bond cost guide shows the math.
The misdemeanor in Penal Code 647(f) covers anyone drunk or high in public who cannot keep themselves or others safe, or who blocks a sidewalk or street. The county's 2026 list puts it under Cite and Release, $0 bail.
Intoxication and Nothing Else
PC 647(g) tells officers, if able, to take a drunk person to a 72-hour treatment facility, and no prosecutor can charge that incident. PC 849(b)(2) lets an officer free someone held for intoxication alone if further proceedings serve no need.
Section 647(f) reaches drugs and toluene too, but 647(g) protective custody excludes anyone under a drug's influence. Being under the influence of a controlled substance, HS 11550, is its own misdemeanor, also listed as Cite and Release.
Resisting an officer (PC 148(a)(1)) lists as Cite and Release, while PC 243(a) battery lists as Book and Release; the stricter label controls. Both stay at $0 unless police also hold a warrant or book a money-bail charge.
Prior 647(f) arrests keep the $0 listing. A relative serving felony probation, parole or PRCS faces Magistrate Review and could stay in custody. A probation violation defaults to own-recognizance release; any bail on it is cash (PC 1203.25).
An Arrest at Cal Poly Pomona
Cal Poly Pomona's campus straddles the city limits and has its own University Police Department, a sworn, 24-hour agency. The same law and county schedule apply there. Ask which agency made the arrest; that agency picks the facility holding your relative.
Was your relative driving? Drunk driving falls under VC 23152, so see our DUI bail bonds page.
Three Simple Steps to a Bail Bond
1
Initial Payment
Phone (888) 998-9511 whenever the arrest happens. Once you know the bail amount, you review and sign the agreement, then make a low down payment toward the standard 10% premium.
2
Customized Payment Plan
We split the remaining premium into a written payment schedule built around your budget. A long case adds no second premium, since California outlawed renewal premiums in 2022 (Penal Code 1276.1).
3
Securing Release
A licensed agent files the bond with the jail or station holding your relative. That facility sets its own release pace, and we keep your family posted until your relative walks out.

Public Intoxication Bail Bond FAQ
We answer these from the Penal Code and the 2026 Los Angeles County schedules. At arraignment, a judge can still change the release terms your relative gets.
Do I still need a bail bond under LA County zero bail?
A warrantless 647(f) arrest needs none before arraignment: the Pre-Arraignment Release Protocol sets $0 bail. Warrants carry judge-set bail (PC 815a). Someone on felony probation or parole may face a magistrate's hold until arraignment, due within 48 hours after the arrest, skipping Sundays and holidays (PC 825).
What is Cite and Release?
Cite and Release means the officer writes a notice to appear and the person signs it, then leaves with $0 bail and a court date (PC 853.6). The 2026 schedule gives this listing to PC 647(f) and HS 11550. An officer may still book someone too intoxicated to be safe first.
What if the defendant misses court?
Skipping a citation date on purpose is a misdemeanor (PC 853.7), and a warrant follows within 20 days (PC 853.8). A warrant walk-through bond covers its bail. A judge vacates a bond forfeiture once the defendant appears within 180 days of its mailed notice, plus five days (PC 1305).
What does a $3,000 bond mean?
It means bail sits at $3,000. At the standard 10% premium the bond costs $300, or $240 at a filed 8% rate for clients who qualify. A judge issuing a warrant on a Cite and Release charge may use the 2026 guideline of $1,000 to $5,000.
What crimes are ineligible for bail?
California's Constitution (art. I, sec. 12) lets courts deny bail for capital crimes, some violent or sexual-assault felonies, and felonies where the accused threatened great bodily harm, after specific court findings. The 2026 felony schedule bars release before arraignment on those charges. A 647(f) misdemeanor sits at $0.
