Why Pomona Families Sign Surety Bonds With Us

Surety bond here means criminal bail. An admitted surety insurer guarantees the defendant's court appearances, our CDI-licensed agent writes it, and you, the indemnitor, pay the premium and back that promise.

Respectful Contact With You and Your References

Our agents space out court-date and payment reminders, and they do not harass you. The references on your application won't get a flood of calls or texts either.

Open 24/7, Holidays Included

We work 24/7 through weekends and holidays and start the paperwork when you call. In our experience, jails release people 2-6 hours after the bond posts, at their own pace.

A Real Person Answers Every Call

Call at midnight or noon and a real person answers. Our bilingual agents go through the indemnity agreement with you line by line, and you sign nothing until we have answered each question.

CDI-Licensed California Bail Agents

Insurance Code 1802 ties a bail agent's license to the surety insurers that appoint it. Ours is listed in the footer, and 867+ clients have used us over 20+ years.

Straight Talk When No Bond Is Needed

Under LA County's Pre-Arraignment Release Protocol, many arrests without a warrant carry $0 bail. We check the 2026 schedule first and say so when a bond would waste your money.

Where a Bail Surety Bond Fits Into a Case

You may need a bail surety bond at several points in a case. These six situations run from a first booking in Pomona to the day a court releases the surety from its promise.

Standard Bail Surety Bond

At Pomona City Jail, 490 W. Mission Blvd., Penal Code 1269b lets the officer in charge accept a surety bond from an admitted surety insurer, and a clerk at Pomona Courthouse South can take one. The amount follows the schedule, warrant or judge.

A warrant for a bailable charge carries its own bail: the issuing judge fixes and endorses it under Penal Code 815a, and section 1269b(b) holds that amount until the first court appearance. LA County's $0 protocol covers only warrantless arrests.

West Valley Detention Center Bonds

An arrest over the line in San Bernardino County can put your relative in West Valley Detention Center, 9500 Etiwanda Ave, Rancho Cucamonga. The Sheriff accepts bail bonds there, and our agent completes the Sheriff's Bail Agent Request Form before dropping one off.

Unless detention is mandatory, 8 U.S.C. 1226(a) allows a bond of at least $1,500, which ICE calls a delivery bond. The obligor signs Form I-352 and produces the person on request; a Treasury-listed surety may post the bond.

After conviction, a judge can set bail while the appeal runs: as a right in misdemeanor appeals, by discretion in other cases, and not at all if the crime carries death or life without parole (Penal Code 1272). A surety bond can cover it.

Exoneration and Forfeiture

A dismissal exonerates the bond under Penal Code 1305, ending the surety's promise. Forfeiture follows an unexcused absence. An appearance within 180 days of the mailed forfeiture notice, plus five days, vacates it; otherwise the surety faces summary judgment (Penal Code 1306).

Three Simple Steps to a Bail Bond

1

Initial Payment

Phone (888) 998-9511 whenever the arrest happens. Once you know the bail amount, you review and sign the agreement, then make a low down payment toward the standard 10% premium.

2

Customized Payment Plan

We split the remaining premium into a written payment schedule built around your budget. A long case adds no second premium, since California outlawed renewal premiums in 2022 (Penal Code 1276.1).

3

Securing Release

A licensed agent files the bond with the jail or station holding your relative. That facility sets its own release pace, and we keep your family posted until your relative walks out.

Surety Bail Bond FAQ

Search Pomona surety bonds and you will see price questions in dollar terms. The answers below apply to criminal bail only; a contractor or license bond follows different pricing.

A criminal bail surety bond costs a standard 10% of the bail, a premium based on rates the surety insurer files with the California Department of Insurance. Clients who qualify, such as veterans or union members, may get 8%. See bail vs bond for the cash route.

On $25,000 bail, the standard 10% premium is $2,500. You pay a low down payment first, then clear the balance through written installments. Under Penal Code 1276.1, that $2,500 is the only premium, however long the case runs. See our bail bond cost guide for Pomona pricing.

A $10,000 bond costs $1,000 at 10%, and dismissal brings no refund. An agent who surrenders the defendant early must repay it under 10 CCR 2090, keeping limited out-of-pocket costs only on proof of higher risk. A court can also order it under PC 1300(b) absent good cause.

Bail of $100,000 carries a $10,000 premium at the standard 10%, or $8,000 if you qualify for 8%. Under 10 CCR 2081, the other allowed charges are collateral and actual, reasonable expenses. Collateral comes back after you pay the premium in full and the court exonerates the bond.

Often not. LA County's Pre-Arraignment Release Protocol gives many warrantless arrests $0 bail through Cite and Release or Book and Release. Most Penal Code 1270.1 offenses and listed enhancements carry money bail, a few charges bar release before arraignment, and under Magistrate Review a judge may release or hold.
